The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario resolves claims of discrimination and harassment brought under the Human Rights Code in a fair, just and timely manner.
Human Rights is a complex area of law which requires a through understanding of the Ontario Human Rights Code along with the practice and procedure of the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.
The Ontario Human Rights Code prohibits discrimination and harassment of any of the following grounds:
- Race, Colour, Ancestry, Creed, and Place of Origin
- Citizenship, Ethnic origin, and Disability
- Sex, including sexual harassment and pregnancy.
- Age, Marital Status, Family status, and Gender expression
- Gender identity, and sexual orientation
- Receipt of public assistance (Applies only to claims about housing)
- Record of offences (Applies only to claims about employment and to criminal convictions for which you have received a pardon)
